Fiji and Big Day Out

Last week I went to Fiji the weather worked in our favour for the most part. We got really lucky. It rained for 3 weeks straight before we got there. While landing you could see the floods. On the main island people tied their cows to the train tracks so they wouldn't wonder off into the flood water. You could see a lot was destroyed... main islands get hit the hardest I forget why I read it somewhere... we got to our island luckily the boat was running that day if we were going further out we probably wouldn't have been able to go.

While there Stacy and I went scuba diving it was a little different from the GBR more untouched. Saw clown fish swam threw a tunnel.. swam threw schools of fish. We also got massages.

I finally got to drink out of a coconut! Found one on the ground and had one of the Fijians teach me how to open it and get the meat out.

We took off early because we felt that the bad weather was starting to come back plus the first hotel really sucked.... by the time we spent money on food and taxis better off to just go home.

Yesterday I went to Big Day Out in Sydney. It's a huge music fest kinda like Lollapalooza of Australia. It was sold out for months but one of our friends got a job selling merch and had a ticket to get rid of.

I really wanted to go to this one but didn't think I'd find a ticket. It's supposed to be the best of all the all day concerts they have.

As you can tell the last couple of weeks have been pretty expensive... the bank is starting to hurt gotta start saving again.

NYE Sydney

Here's a link to what went on last night.

It was pretty crazy. Unfortunately I had to work... but I did get a chance to watch the fireworks. My view was somewhat good I saw the bridge from and angle view... couldn't really see a lot of that side stuff going on. The area I was near was packed. Everywhere was fully packed. 1.5 million people. The bridge part is the main section anyways. Honestly I think the best view would be from A) a really high apartment building B) on a boat or C) somewhere in the sky. Doesn't matter where you stand on land your not going to be able to see everything and how intense it is so I'm not too dissapointed. Also my camera battery died so I have one or two pictures of the event. Oh well... at least I wasn't wasted and will remember it.

We have our staff party on Sunday should be good. The other day I went to Bronte and Coogee beach with an Aussie friend. Afterwards we went to this fresh seafood place where you pick out whatever you want to eat fish wise and they cook it. Kind of like a market style. We got raw oysters they were really good.

Fiji in about two weeks and I think I've made a fair amount of cash back since I started working. Gotta head to bed now I'm opening tomorrow and the next couple of days. Traded so I don't have to work nights. Should be good.
nite.
